Tate Furniture started as a family-owned furniture store in 1983 in the historic Old Townhouse in Phenix City. The store has grown alongside the Phenix City, Alabama and Columbus, Georgia communities and is now large enough to serve the entire East Alabama and West Georgia region, providing quality name-brand furniture and home accessories at the lowest possible prices.
In January 2005, Tate Furniture introduced an exciting new shopping experience at its beautiful new extra-large showroom in the former Walmart building on the 280 Bypass. At 86,000 square feet, Tate Furniture has become one of the largest furniture stores in the Southeast United States. The store is now a direct dealer of the complete line of Ashley Furniture and offers a vast array of bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, home offices, mattresses, accent furniture, area rugs and accessories in an assortment of styles.
The Tate's stand by the traditional values that have earned their customers' trust through the years and they are always in search of new ways to improve customer satisfaction and to increase the value of their service. In fact, the store is still owned and operated by the Tate family, and they still believe that traditional values and customer service are the keys to success. Tate Furniture has been proudly serving the Phenix City area for years. We're a family-owned and operated furniture store that was built on a simple idea: families deserve quality furniture at honest prices.
Our owner started this business because they saw too many families paying inflated prices at big-box stores and chain retailers. By working directly with manufacturers and keeping our operations lean, we're able to offer the same name-brand furniture at significantly lower prices. That's not a sales pitch.
